Gecko is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed physical theatre company founded in 2001 by Artistic Director Amit Lahav. Over two decades, Gecko has created 8 critically acclaimed productions, 2 Associate Shows and 2 films. From the start, the company has developed a unique, highly physical style rooted in rigorous devising, experimentation and collaboration. Gecko’s work has toured widely across the UK and internationally, earning a reputation for emotionally resonant storytelling through movement, sound and design. Kin, Gecko’s latest production commissioned by the National Theatre, powerfully brings personal stories of migration to life through a deeply collaborative and charged performance.

This immersive, 3-day long experience offers deep access to Gecko’s distinctive approach to physical theatre and devising. You’ll explore the creative processes behind our productions and engage with the techniques and philosophies that shape our work.
Guided by Artistic Director Amit Lahav’s unique methodology, you’ll take part in ensemble building, physically dynamic and expressive tasks and exercises that explore serious play, breath and language. You'll be encouraged to take creative risks, access emotional depth safely and transform simple beginnings into compelling performance.
