Who are you without your name, your status, your influence?
And what if, one morning, you wake to find that all of it has been transferred to someone else — who do you become then?
You wake up, and your nose is gone. But the most unsettling part isn’t the loss itself — it’s that it now exists elsewhere.
Living without you.
Sitting at your desk. Wearing your clothes. Carrying your name.
Earning more respect than you ever did.
What remains of a person when they no longer own their own face?
What happens when a title, a position, or a role carries more weight than the individual behind it?
"The Nose" is a satirical drama that explores themes of identity and societal status through a surreal premise.
Theatre Studio 42 is an independent theater that opened in 2023. It is located in Didube, Tbilisi’s industrial center, at 114 Tsereteli Avenue, on the premises of TBILISI FACTORY. The theater was founded by Levan Tsuladze, renowned Georgian Theatre director, after he left leading position at State Drama Theatre.
The mission of the theater is to develop independent theatrical art as a vital necessity and to integrate it into the cultural, economic, and social fabric of Tbilisi.
Theatre Studio 42 has a capacity of 264 seats and, in addition to performances, is focused on educational projects and the development of modern technologies. Alongside its entirely unique stage and auditorium, the theater’s foyer is lively and engaging, featuring theatrical cafés and an exhibition space.
Though very young, by the end of its second season, the theater’s repertoire already includes 12 productions — ranging from classics and contemporary drama to documentary plays. Its educational programs have also gained popularity and are in high demand.
The development of theatrical art and its integration into the global cultural map is our mission. For that reason, we place great importance on international theater festivals, technological workshops, exchange projects, exhibitions, and conferences in various fields related to the theater profession. Co-productions are of particular interest to us, and we are actively working in this direction.
The theater does not have a permanent ensemble — both experienced actors and very young performers appear together on its stage.
Despite a challenging season (2024–2025), including a three-month strike and resistance movement, the theater premiered three new productions, won the grand prize at the TBC Bank Business Awards, and hosted several international projects.
