Oh God, by Anat Gov, is a witty and profound comic drama where the divine meets the everyday in a modern Tel Aviv therapist’s office. Ella, a sharp and compassionate psychotherapist and single mother of an autistic son, receives an extraordinary and unexpected patient — God Himself.
Disillusioned with humanity and on the brink of ending it all, God turns to Ella for psychological help. What follows is a one-hour therapy session filled with humor, heartbreak, and philosophical confrontation. As Ella wrestles with the enormity of her task and her own personal challenges, she questions God’s views on creation, suffering, and faith.
Blending fantasy and realism, the play raises timeless questions about religion, responsibility, motherhood, and the human soul. With biting dialogue, tender moments, and rich emotional depth, Oh God invites audiences to laugh, reflect, and reconsider their beliefs through an intimate, life-or-death conversation between a mortal and her Maker.
