Tea Kakhiani earned her PhD in Art Sciences in 2016 with a thesis titled "Modern Tendencies in Georgian Theatre Directing 1990-2000." She has served as a jury member for various competitions and festivals, including the Comedy Festival, New Georgian Play, and Duruji.
Dr. Kakhiani is the co-founder and organizer of the Festival of Student Performances and Films "Debut" (2002-2005) and the Tavisupali Award, which supports independent theaters and artists (2023). She has participated in and spoken at international seminars and conferences in Georgia, Bulgaria, Romania, and the Czech Republic.
An accomplished author, Dr. Kakhiani has contributed approximately 30 scientific articles to the Georgian Encyclopedia and around 50 theatrical publications to various journals and magazines. Since 2012, she has been managing the first Georgian digital theatre platform www.georgiantheatre.ge
